A family is desperately trying to track down their much loved pet parrot after it went missing from a house in Exmouth last night.

The African Grey parrot, called Pebbles, went missing from a property on Littleham Road, Exmouth, at around 8pm last night.

Pebbles has a mainly grey body with a distinctive red tail and is quite vocal.

The alarm has been raised on social media by the owners, Jeff Wilks and his daughter Kelly.

“He’s been gone all night and it’s been raining so we’re all a bit worried,” said Kelly.

“My dad went out calling for him but had no luck; he’s a real house bird so it’s really unusual for him to take off like this.

“He’s very chatty and sounds like my dad; he makes weird noises and whistles but probably wouldn’t talk directly to strangers.”

Pebbles is 24-years-old and has been looked after by Jeff for 21 years, the family are hoping Pebbles has taken shelter somewhere during the wet weather.

If you have seen or heard Pebbles please contact Kelly on 07840771107 or 01395 740173.
