A MAN reported missing from his Morton Road hotel on Friday night sparked a police and sea search after fears were raised for his safety.

The man was believed to be in the town to mark the second anniversary of his daughter's death and to visit the area where her ashes were previously scattered.

The man's brother raised the alarm after becoming concerned. Exmouth's lifeboat crews joined in a search of the foreshore, from Orcombe Point to Dawlish Warren, where the man was last spotted.

The search was called off when it was discovered the missing man had returned to his holiday accommodation.
