POLICE divers have began searching Squabmoor Reservoir for missing Exmouth man Darren Healey.

POLICE divers have began searching Squabmoor Reservoir for missing Exmouth man Darren Healey.

Portland coastguard helicopter, Exmouth coastguards, Dartmoor Search and Rescue and the police have this afternoon been searching Woodbury Common for the missing 37-year-old after data from the town's mobile phone mast revealed Mr Healey's last phone call had been made from the area.

It is thought the police took the decision to task divers to search the Squabmoor pools after a fisherman local to the area said Mr Healey was a frequent visitor at the reservoir and often went there to sit and 'collect his thoughts'.

Exmouth coastguards returned to base earlier but are later expected to search the cliff tops from Sandy Bay to Budleigh Salterton.

Thirty-seven-year-old Mr Healey is described by police to be 'vulnerable' because of his mental state.

He has short dark brown hair, is 6ft 1ins tall, around 12 stone and usually wears jeans and a t-shirt or hoody.

Anyone with information about him, or who might have seen him, is asked to call the police on 08452 777444.
