A model dinosaur reported missing from Exmouth’s Jurassic Safari trail has been recovered, the organisers have said.

The disappearance of the baby T-Rex from Madeira Walk soon after it was installed prompted appeals by concerned social media users for its return.

Exmouth Town Council’s town management project officer Suzanne Birkett said: “Our town clerk was out for a walk on Wednesday and the baby T-Rex was sitting on a bench with some teenagers. She collected it and we are back to the drawing board regarding secure installation.”

Suzanne added that parents were asked not to let their children swing on ropes surrounding dinosaurs or climb on them.

The dinosaurs have been organised by the Exmouth Town Team in partnership with Exmouth Town Council, East Devon District Council and the Jurassic Coast Team, with sponsorship from local businesses and schools.
