Missing Budleigh woman found after seafront search

Devon and Cornwall Police have confirmed that a woman who was reported missing on Monday (August 28) night was found at around 6.20pm on Tuesday.

A 60-year-old woman who went missing on Monday (August 28) night in Budleigh Salterton was found.

Police were called at around 10.55pm after a report of a woman going missing in Budleigh.

Officers say her vehicle was located by police at Lime Kiln car park just before midnight.

An area search was launched involving police, and coastguard teams from Exmouth and Teignmouth.

Posting on Facebook, Exmouth Coastguard said two teams searched for the woman between Steamer Steps and Sandy Bay on the cliffs and along the shore.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesman said the woman was found at around 6.20am on Tuesday (August 29) on the cliff top in North View Road.

She was checked over by paramedics as a precaution.
