The Budleigh Salterton community has been thanked after a flower festival raised nearly £3,000 for a church appeal.

The three-day Midsummer Festival took place at St Peter’s Church in aid of a lighting appeal.

Some £40,000 is needed to repair the lights in the church.

No final festival fundraising total is available but it is thought that nearly £3,000 has been raised.

Organisers thanked the community for their support as well as volunteers, businesses, guest organists and skilled flower arrangers.
