Met Office forecasts another day of snow for Devon

The snow warning for Devon has been extended by another day.
The Met Office announced a yellow weather warning for the area yesterday (Saturday), predicting snow to hit on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The warning has been extended by another day, meaning snow is also possible on Thursday, although the situation remains uncertain.
A Met Office spokesman said: “A weather system is expected to move slowly north through Thursday into Friday and has potential to produce widespread snow, accompanied by strong to gale force winds.
“As less cold air follows from the south, there is a small chance of snow turning to freezing rain bringing an additional ice risk.
“There is still uncertainty in how this system will develop, but there is a small chance of the combined effects of snow, strong winds and ice leading to severe impacts.”
Public Health England has urged people to take extra care.
James Mapstone, deputy regional director for Public Health England in the South West, said: “We are expecting some bitter weather over the weekend and early next week which may come as a bit of a shock for some after the more recent mild weather.
“We urge people to remember to check weather forecasts and plan their day carefully around the weather.”
