With 2016 coming to a close, Mayor of Exmouth Brian Cole has issued the following new year’s message:

“As we approach the end of 2016, I am reminded of all the events that I have attended, representing the best of all that is Exmouth.

“We are a diverse community served by countless volunteers who help to make this beautiful town so appealing to its visitors.

“We are so fortunate to have the services of these volunteers, who bring so much pleasure and hope to our residents, both young and those not quite so young.

“As the Mayor of Exmouth, I look forward to the new year of 2017, knowing that I will be facing some tough challenges. However, I look forward with confidence that whatever the challenge, we will meet it positively if we unite and work together.

“Thank you all for the support that I have received during 2016 as my first experience of undertaking the mayoral role.

“It is a challenge, more than some would realise. But I have found that the harder that I am prepared to work in that capacity, the more satisfaction is achieved.

“It has been an honour and a privilege to serve my town in this way and I hope that we can together, make a positive impact on our community during 2017.

“On behalf of the Exmouth town councillors and staff, I should like to wish the residents and businesses a very happy, prosperous and peaceful new year.”
