MARPOOL Primary School pupils have been given the green light to ride to school now the youngsters have proved they are cycle savvy.

A group of 18 Year 5 and 6 pupils pulled on their cycle helmets and showed off their road safety skills as part of the county council Bike Ability day, held at the school.

During the day the pupils proved they were capable cyclists - showing they knew how to look after their bikes, and also safely negotiate roads, roundabouts and other hazards.

All the pupils taking part in the day, led by Chris Blasdale from Cycle Exeter, successfully achieved level two of the scheme - enabling them to safely cycle on the road.

It is hoped pupils who achieve level two will cycle to school.
