Man found near Exmouth beach taken to hospital

A man found at the far end of the Sandy Bay area of Exmouth beach was taken to hospital for back injuries.

A man found near the Sandy Bay area on Wednesday (August 23) had to be taken to hospital for back injuries

Exmouth Coastguard received a call at around 11.30pm from a holidaymaker saying a man was injured west of Sandy Bay.

Two teams, including one from Exmouth Coastguard, searched the area and the casualty was found at the far end of Sandy bay.

South Western Ambulance Service was called to attend.

A spokesman for the ambulance service said they attended with their hazardous area response team and a man was taken to Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital for treatment on a back injury.
