Exmouth RNLI and coastguard teams were called out yesterday to search for a missing man, later found dead.

Both the Exmouth inshore and offshore lifeboats and the coastguard were tasked to take part in a search of the coast, along with Sidmouth and Lyme Regis lifeboats and Beer, Lyme Regis, West Bay and Teignmouth coastguard, after a 59-year-old man’s boat was found washed up at West Bay.

Lifeboats were stood down at 1.43pm, and shortly after the man’s body was found at West Bay.
