Commuters could face delays due to major roadworks on the M5 at Exeter.

Work on Junction 29 of the motorway will begin on May 23 and is expected to last until the summer of 2012.

The work will see a new link road being built to the old A30 at Blackhorse, which will include junctions into the new Exeter Science Park development.

After initial surveys have been completed work on the road itself will begin on June 20, prompting a series of lane closures.

Details of the lane closures will be agreed with the Highways Agency and publicised in advance.

Towards the end of the scheme next year, a number of overnight closures will also be necessary for the installation of new overhead sign gantries.
