Lympstone Royal Marines to attend city Remembrance service

LYMPSTONE Royal Marines are to attend at Remembrance service hosted by the Lord Mayor of Exeter, Councillor Paul Smith, in Exeter s Northernhay Gardens on Sunday November 9.

The service will be conducted around the city's war memorial and everyone is welcome to attend.
The Lord Mayor's chaplain will conduct the service, and the Exeter Salvation Army band will provide the music.
Ex-service units and other local associations are represented around the war memorial carrying standards and laying wreaths.
Representatives from each of the four military organisations who have the freedom of the city rights will also be in attendance - The Royal Marines at Lympstone, The Rifles, HMS Exeter, 243 (The Wessex) Field Hospital.
A parade commander from The Rifles will provide a military attendance and two buglers will play Reveille and Last Post.
A civic party led by the Lord Mayor will arrive at the war memorial at around 10.50am and the service will commence.
Service sheets will be handed out and the public are welcome to lay poppies or wreaths.
If they make themselves known to the parade commander or the president of the Royal British Legion, they will be shown where to stand.
