Lympstone Marine Training Camp celebrates a positive Ofsted report

THE Lympstone Commando Training Centre (CTC) is celebrating receiving a glowing report from government inspectors over its apprenticeship training.

THE Lympstone Commando Training Centre (CTC) is celebrating receiving a glowing report from government inspectors over its apprenticeship training.

Ofsted inspectors spent time at the camp investigating the delivery the camp's level-two apprenticeship course.

Royal Marine spokesman David Fradley said the commando training centre received a 'very good' report with special praise for its high success rates, strong quality improvement and excellent trainee support.

He said: "All Royal Marine recruits undertake a specially designed apprenticeship programme while in training at Lympstone, enhancing skills that they will need when they are in the workplace."

RM Fradley said some 2424 marines had so far received their apprenticeship qualification.

He said the scheme was so successful it was being adopted by other elements of the armed forces.
