FUNDRAISERS swung into action at Lympstone's Commando Training Camp to launch a new campaign for Cancer Research.

A number of people wore pink t-shirts, teamed with the charity's pink and blue ribbons, to mark the launch of their Join the fight for women's survival.

Sabrina Sallis, Sam Williams, Sylvia Arlett, Dawn Harrison, Alex Bayley and Maria Gomez turned out to pose in the t-shirts at the training centre's assault course.

The new 'Camo' ribbon symbolises Cancer Research UK's campaign and the role its scientists play on the front-line battle against breast cancer.

Sylvia Arlett, Cancer Research area volunteer manager for Devon, said: "We are shaping up to recruit mums, dads, families, friends and work colleagues throughout Devon to help raise money.

"We want them to step forward and be counted as they join the fight for women's survival."

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK with one in nine women developing the disease during their lifetime.
