RESIDENTS and visitors to Lympstone can look forward to what promises to be an unforgettable event of day-long entertainment next month.

The village is to hold an open garden day on Sunday, July 12, between 10.30am and 4.30pm.

Thirteen gardens in the area can be viewed, as well as a treasure trail being held for children, a raffle and plant quiz.

Money raised will be donated to Lympstone Primary School to help fund the redevelopment of part of its land.

It is hoped a redundant space in their grounds can be landscaped, and turned into an area to be used for teaching. The total amount needed is 20,000.

The open garden day will also feature craft stalls, a teddy bears' picnic, story telling, music from the village choir, drink and refreshments.

To attend the open day, tickets are priced at 4 for adults. There is no admission charge for children.
