How good it was to read the sensible letter from Geoff Tyler in the Journal after so many letters complaining about the trees being removed from The Strand. I wonder if any of those letter writers had actually looked at those trees recently.
How good it was to read the sensible letter from Geoff Tyler in the Journal after so many letters complaining about the trees being removed from The Strand.
I wonder if any of those letter writers had actually looked at those trees recently. There was something wrong with them anyway. Even I (who am no tree expert) could see that. The conkers last year were so small you could not have played with them and the tree opposite the bank was held together by iron straps.
If they had been kept and the next big blow had brought a branch down on somebody, who would have got the blame? Maybe a little patience to the eventual outcome of all the work might be a good idea.
