ST Peter's Primary School pupil Jamie Clarke won a pool party for himself and 20 friends after designing the winning logo for a new group dedicated to improving the school's swimming facilities. The Warm Wish Group - a newly-formed support group set up to raise funds to improve and upgrade the school's pool - organised the whole-school competition and invited youngsters to come up with a logo that summed up what the group was about.Competition was stiff and the final decision to choose Jamie's design, showing two children in the water with outstretched arms, was made by Graeme Smith via the British Swimming Association. Graeme was the 1500m freestyle bronze medallist at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games and will be going to Beijing to support the British swimmers. The Warm Wish Group's current project is to extend the safety flooring in the pool area and add non-slip flooring in the changing rooms.
