A fun day and barbecue was held at Littleham Community Orchard to celebrate the launch of a new community group.

Scores of residents turned out for the event, which also featured a bouncy castle for the children, as well as advice for tree guardians and a traditional apple press.

The event, organised by East Devon District Council’s (EDDC) community development team, was held to mark the start of the Link-in Together project.

It aims to create and maintain a regular community space with informal support and become a friendly point of contact for all residents.

The next meeting of the group will take place from 6.30pm on Thursday, October 8, at Clayton House Community Centre.
