Exmouth’s mayor, Brian Cole, has officially opened Littleham Primary School’s spiritual garden.

The garden is a designated area where pupils can go and reflect or enjoy learning outside.

Volunteers from Exmouth in Bloom helped construct the garden. They also donated plants and seeds.

Sarah Padbury, a teacher at the school, praised everyone’s involvement.

She said: “We were delighted to have the mayor open our spiritual garden.

“Well done to all involved, especially Graham Bell, who has led the project.”

Mayor Brian Cole is confident the garden will be beneficial for the pupils.

He said: “It will help the children understand nature and it will make them better citizens, as they will learn how to grow plants and vegetables themselves and help look after the environment.”
