May I, through the courtesy of your columns, thank all the many people and businesses who contributed to make our First Literary Festival such an enormous success on September 5 and again on September 18, 19 and 20 .
May I, through the courtesy of your columns, thank all the many people and businesses who contributed to make our First Literary Festival such an enormous success on September 5 and again on September 18, 19 and 20 .
Many events were sold out and the whole festival generated an enormous buzz, much assisted by the splendid weather, (which we had asked our president, Sue Lawley, to lay on for us). We would like to think the festival provided quite a useful boost to the local economy.
What is certain is that it could never have taken place at all without the great generosity shown by a large number of private individuals and many local businesses, besides our lead sponsors: Everys and special sponsor for the Michael Morpurgo Event: Palmers Whitton & Laing.
We now have a secure foundation laid for a still bigger and better and even more Literary Festival on September 24,25 and 26 2010. Many thanks to all concerned.
