LIons’ golf day raises £4,500 for Hopsicare@Home

An annual charity golf day held in Budleigh Salterton has raised more than £4,500 for a Hospiscare service which allows patients to remain in their own homes.

Budleigh Lions have presented a cheque for £4,650 to Jeremy Browne, chairman of Hospiscare Budleigh Salterton and District raised by the group’s charity golf day held last month at East Devon Golf Club.

The funds will go towards the Hospscare@Home scheme, which is an extension of the charity’s nursing service allowing more patients to remain in their homes at difficult times and also at the end of their life.

The service was introduced last year and is jointly funded by Hospiscare Exmouth and Lympstone and the Budleigh Salterton and District branch at a cost of £350,000 a year.

Both charity’s thanked the lions club and golf day entrants for their contribution.
