Elderly residents of Budleigh Salterton and the surrounding villages have again enjoyed a Christmas lunch thanks to the town's lions club.

The annual festive feast took place at the Public Hall on Saturday and was attended by nearly 100 people.

Guests enjoyed a lunch, the chance to catch up with friends and a present from Father Christmas - who was assisted by the Budleigh Gala Week royal family.

Lion Jack Keen did the cooking, and Budleigh DJ Tom Hartnell provided music.

Organiser Alan Lowe said: “They thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

“We have already had a lot of thank-yous.

“It went down very well, and it was nice this year that more than two-thirds of the people had never been before.

“It was quite pleasing to see new faces.”

Alan added that he and the Lions would like to thank everyone who helped make the event a success.
