FOLLOWING last week's article entitled "Calls on Littleham shellfish factory to relocate", I would like to comment. I read with great interest the statement made by Cllr Ken Harper with regards to East Devon Shellfish. The factory has had a very serious crime committed against it by way of an arson attack, yet Cllr Harper appears to have put the boot in to the company when it is at its lowest. I expect the company would love to relocate and I suspect that, if Cllr Harper was to contact the the managing director of the company and offer to pay the costs, they would jump at his suggestion. Until he makes this offer, I would expect that, under the economic down turn we are all experiencing at the moment, they just cannot afford to move.Cllr Harper would be better off turning his attention to Exmouth town centre. Yet again we have a right old cock up, with people being asked what should be done to the Strand Gardens. Should we be wasting money looking into this or lowering shops' taxes to try to keep the town centre alive?Come on, Ken, keep Exmouth alive for the young. You old ones have had your time - let us have a go at keeping jobs in Exmouth.Peter Barnes, Littleham Road, Exmouth.
