The Exmouth branch of the Royal British Legion is calling on volunteers to come forward to help this year's Poppy Appeal.

David Richardson and Jean Gregory, pictured at King’s Garden Centre, have become representatives for the appeal in Exmouth town centre and Littleham, respectively.

The Royal British Legion is still looking for another volunteer for the northern area of the town, which includes Withycombe.

A spokesman for the Royal British Legion said: “Our organisers and volunteers work so hard for the Poppy Appeal and, together with the Exmouth branch of the legion, raise much-needed funds for the serving and ex-military with financial and emotional assistance.

“The legion provides lifelong support for members of the Royal Navy, British Army and Royal Air Forces, reservists, veterans and their families all year round.

“The Poppy Appeal in Devon stands at £160,000 and we could not achieve this target without the support of the general public and our wonderful volunteers.”

If anyone can spare some time for the Poppy Appeal, please contact Carole Arnold on 07769671590.
