East Devon District Council will make the final decision on the plans, relating to 50 Granary Lane.
Additional applications backed by the town council include calls for a flat floor extension at 11 Frewins, a proposed rear terrace at Long Range Hotel, 5 Vales Road, a single storey extension at 4 Barns Road and a porch at 11 Granary Lane.
Plans approved by EDDC include an application for a single storey rear extension and external alterations at 35 Copp Hill Lane.
The local authority also approved calls for the erection of a sun room with balcony at Heart’s Delight, 2 Castle Lane.
