A decision on whether to approve controversial plans for a new field of caravans at Ladram Bay Holiday Park has been delayed.

The plan would see the field, currently used as an overflow area for tents, mobile caravans and campervans, converted to accommodate 42 static caravans.

The district council’s development management committee had been due to rule on the plans. However, it was decided that the committee should carry out a formal site inspection before making a decision.

Councillor Anthony Howard said: “This is a big decision and we need more time to consider it.”
