May I please respond to the poetry of J Gittings, Exmouth? I, too, love your paper and buy it every week.Exmouth, Exmouth a lovely little town,Exmouth, Exmouth something lets it down,Could it be the council, parking too expensive and shopping's just a drag I have to go to Exeter with a larger bag,Exmouth, Exmouth needs another shop,to compete with the others and keep them on the hop, Let's have an Asda, a Waitrose or a Marks,or a Sainsbury's and watch the flying sparks.Who cares about the bus depot, the station or the rest? Knock it down, regenerate, rebuild it, bring on the best. If the wading birds are scared by plastic carrier bags They must be scared of kites and wind surfers and dogs Fishing boats and old men who get sucked into bogs, Let's stop the traffic trailing into ExeterBy providing competition, jobs even better.Especially in this financial clime, when we have to copeLet's give the parents and children and workers some kind of hope.Bob Pritchard,Address supplied.
