Lifeboat volunteers self-launched their D class lifeboat George Bearman at 1.20pm on Monday, May 9, to a kitesurfer in difficulty.

The woman, in her 20s, had been caught up on number 8 buoy, 400 metres south of the lifeboat.

Other kitesurfers retrieved her kit whilst RNLI crew members recovered her to the lifeboat.

En route ashore, another kitesurfer was found in difficulty, with kit wrapped around no 7 buoy.

RNLI Volunteers also recovered the young male and dropped both casualties ashore.
