A kitesurfer has had to be rescued after getting into difficulties off Exmouth.

The incident happened on Saturday at 12.21pm, when the kitesurfer, who was unable to get back to shore, was seen by another kitesurfer, who alerted Portland Coastguard.

The Exmouth inshore lifeboat was launched, and located the casualty, who had drifted onto a sandbank off Orcombe Point.
