Exmouth is set to lose two public payphones – but retain three councillors say are well used.
Exmouth Town Council was consulted about plans to remove phone boxes in Phear Avenue, Phear Park, Hulham Road, Exeter Road, and Capel Lane, as part of a national programme of removals by BT, due to the increase in mobile phone ownership. Councillors said that they felt that the boxes in Hulham Road and Exeter Road could be removed, but the other three should be retained.
