POLICE are warning people to be more 'security-aware' after a series of home burglaries were reported.Exmouth police have issued a statement to people to be more safety-conscious of their own homes after eight burglaries were reported in The Avenues in the past 10 days. The police believe the burglaries were carried out when windows and doors were left open and unlatched, making it easy for burglars to slip in. PC Darren Campbell said: "With the weather getting better, we are sitting in the garden and leaving the doors open. You need to lock your doors over-night, take the keys out when door is locked and shut the windows."The police have asked that residents report any suspicious activity in the area.Call 999, if there is an emergency at night, or the enquiry centre on (08452)777444.
