Keep eye on Inn

PUBLISHED: 07:00 23 March 2013

I’m not against this project in principle, but Premier Inn will need to be watched carefully to ensure that the building is fit to be allowed on Exmouth’s seafront.

By the look of the picture on the Journal front page, it looks like the top floor has just been plonked on top of the building, just to test the water with the planners.

It should be refused, of course, as it makes the building too tall.

Also if the exterior is to be white stone paint, any building permission granted should enforce a complete repaint every 24 months, to ensure it remains presentable.
