A BID to extend the opening hours of a kebab shop to the early hours has not been backed by town planners - despite an incredible 58 letters of support.
The owner of Mo's Kebabs, 40 The Strand, has applied to be able to 'vary' his opening hours, effectively extending them from midnight to 3am.
Neighbours, businesses and customers have written too support the plans - but the Exmouth Society have objected.
Ian Cann of the Society said: "For very sound reasons the closing time for this establishment was set at 12 midnight.
"Extended opening hours until 3am would be to the detriment of the resedential flats in the area by way of the noise and litter..."
Resident Chris Greenway said: "The passage of time should not be a catalyst to soften the existing planning permission granted.
