A TV broadcaster and naturalist will launch the new rock and landscape guide of the Jurassic Coast. Special guest Andrew Cooper, who works with the BBC as a design engineer, will be launching The Red Coast Revealed guide describing the rocks and landscapes of the World Heritage coast. The educational book is lavishly illustrated with maps and colour photographs of the geology along the stretch of coast from Exmouth to Lyme Regis, and describes in detail the red part of the coast.Written by Dr Richard Edwards, with a foreword by Dr Iain Stewart, geologist, author and television presenter, the book has support from the Devon County Council, Exmouth Town Council and Natural England. Dr Stewart said: "Travelling the 155 kilometres of foreshore that twists and turns is not simply a journey through some of the most sublime coastal scenery in Britain, it is also time travel of the most fabulous kind. "In the hour or so that it can take to drive from one end of this World Heritage coast to the other, you dip in and out of 265 million years of Earth history."The book launch will be at Clinton Devon Estates, The Rolle Estate Office, Bicton Arena, East Budleigh, from 3pm to 4.30pm.It is available from bookshops, Tourist Information Centres and Visitor Centres along the Jurassic Coast from Bournemouth to Exeter.
