Annual contest winner Jessica, of Brixington Academy, raised £425 for Exmouth RNLI through sales of the flavour of ice cream she designed at Antonio's Ice Cream Parlour.

An ice cream flavour designed by an Exmouth girl has raised vital funds for the town’s life-saving charity.

In April this year, Brixington Academy student Jessica won an annual contest to create a new flavour which was sold at Antonio’s Ice Cream Parlour, in The Strand, through the summer.

A portion of the profit from the sale of the ice cream goes to Exmouth RNLI.

Since they first opened in Exmouth, Antonio’s has raised more than £2,700 for the life-saving charity. This year, Jessica’s ice cream raised £425.

A spokesperson for Exmouth RNLI said: “Jessica and her mum were delighted with the amount raised from her chocolate caramel marshmallow flavour ice cream.”

Crew volunteers joined Jessica and Tony Badcott, co-owner of Antonio’s to celebrate the success of this year’s contest. Brixington head of learning Stuart Dyer was also in attendance.
