FORGET the limo - Exmouth lifeboat man Robert Thompson and his bride Helen Crispin stepped aboard the lifeboat, The Margaret Jean, following their wedding at the town hall's registry office.

Bride Helen wore a cream full-length dress and staved off the sea breeze with a blue chiffon wrap.

Her children, Tania and Shane Crispin, acted as witnesses during the ceremony.

After the vows were said, members of the lifeboat crew turned to tradition and formed an arch with oars over the happy couple as they left the registry office.

The new Mr and Mrs Thompson held a reception for friends and family at the Beach Hotel, on Exmouth seafront before setting off on honeymoon to the Lake District.

Exhibition contractor Mr Thompson, known by his crewmates as Tommo, has been on the lifeboat crew for 12 years.
