EXMOUTH cyclists looking to enjoy the Exe Cycle trail, which is rapidly becoming one of the most popular in the county, could soon benefit from bike parking and hire facilities.

At a meeting of the Exmouth Transport Partnership the burgeoning popularity of the trail - the Exmouth to Lympstone section opened last year - it was suggested could lead to 'improved resources.'

The minutes of the meeting said: "Working with the private sector it could be possible to provide cycle hire, cycle parking and possibly some type of shop mobility from a temporary Portocabin type structure near The Edge premises."

The long term goal is to construct a cycle path around the whole of the Exe Estuary a distance of 26 miles.
