A CHURCH renovation project costing more than �100,000 has started in Withycombe Raleigh. Repair work on the roof and windows at St John The Evangelist Church, on Village Road, will take six months to complete. The renovation programme has been achieved
A CHURCH renovation project costing more than �100,000 has started in Withycombe Raleigh.
Repair work on the roof and windows at St John The Evangelist Church, on Village Road, will take six months to complete.
The renovation programme has been achieved thanks to the help of Devon Historic Churches Trust.
Once the work has been completed, new features will include a memorial window displaying a warrior, in commemoration of people from the village who lost their lives in World War I.

The trust was established in 1972 to help the preservation and maintenance of the 1000 places of worship in the county.
It gives grants to help with the repair, restoration, refurbishment and maintenance of both the inside and outside of historic churches.
