EXMOUTH'S coloured illuminations that adorn the seafront are coming towards the end of their working life and may not be replaced.
Running the coloured festoons of lights cost �20,000 a year to maintain - and the ageing electrics mean that each season more and more gaps are appearing.
Head of StreeScene Mark Reilly said: "The festoon lights are paid for by us but they are on county council lamp posts.
"The lighting is coming towards the end of its life and it is costing more and more each year to keep them running.
