I apologise unreservedly
As one of those who vented their anger on Cllr Franklin at the Longboat planning meeting last week, I would like to take this opportunity to apologise to him unreservedly.
As one of those who vented their anger on Cllr Franklin at the Longboat planning meeting last week, I would like to take this opportunity to apologise to him unreservedly.
However, by way of some explanation, I would just like to add that my views and those of so many others on that day (not to mention the 200-plus people who had taken the time and trouble to write in and object) were never going to be met or taken seriously.
How many times had we asked Cllr Franklin to meet with us to talk to us, but to no avail.
Obviously, we can now see that, for whatever reason or reasons, he was never going to change his position and listen to the vast number of Budleigh residents who were against this planning application and who had voted for him as their representative and "voice" at local council elections.
I now hope that Cllr Franklin will follow suit and have the courtesy and courage to apologise to all of us living in Budleigh who, in my opinion, he so badly let down.
I look forward to reading his response in your paper, as I understand this is the channel he prefers to use when he wishes to make a statement.
