Hundreds of motorcyclists expected to pay tribute to Budleigh Salterton man

MONDAY, OCTOBER 6 - SOME 200 motorcyclists are tomorrow expected to pay tribute to a Budleigh Salterton man who died at the end of September.
SOME 200 motorcyclists are tomorrow expected to pay tribute to a Budleigh Salterton man who died at the end of September.
The funeral of John Taylor takes place on Tuesday October 7 at 10am in St Peter's Chapel, at Exeter crematorium.
Mr Taylor was well known for his activity in charitable motorcycle rides and it is expected that there will be a funeral cortege of up 200 motorcycles involved.
Motorists are being warned by police about the size of the cortege, which will leave Exeter MOTO service station at 9.40am.
The motorcyclists will head for the Exeter by-pass to Countess Wear, then travel along Topsham Road.
The funeral service is expected to last for 30 minutes. Afterwards the bikers' cortege will depart for a wake at the Exeter Golf and Country Club, in Topsham Road.
The police are warning motorists in the area to be prepared for short delays if they encounter the cortege as it makes its way to the crematorium.
