PUPILS were treated to a visit from a special guest last week.

East Devon MP Hugo Swire attended Littleham Primary School, on Littledown Close, Exmouth, last Friday, May 8. Mr Swire said he was particularly impressed with how polite the children were.

He added: "The visit went well. It is a school with a very positive atmosphere. I was very impressed overall and the teaching staff were very engaged."

Headteacher Penny Hickman said the school had won a national reading award which Hugo was impressed about.

"It was a good day. Hugo read with some of the children. We also took advantage of him being here by asking some other questions as well. Our chair of governors also attended.
