THE owners of a house on the Avenues, who have requested permission to build a replacement building on the site of their partly demolished house, are not being backed by Exmouth Town Council planners.Mr May has applied for the construction of a replacement house at 14a Douglas Avenue after being granted permission to demolish the existing house two years ago.Councillor Kenneth Harper recommended the application be rejected because it was out of keeping with the character of the street. He said: "The building they removed was a building of real character." The plans will now be considered by East Devon District Council.
