Festival-goers gearing up for ensemble music performances

Regular Budleigh Music Festival-goers are gearing up for an opportunity to hear world class ensemble players.

The vocal ensemble Apollo5 has received international acclaim for its performances. Their programme ‘On Green Swept Shores’, on July 14, ranges through sacred, folk, jazz and pop music.

Sunwook Kim is recognised as one of the finest pianists of his generation. On July 16, he will include works by Mozart, Beethoven and Brahms.

Merlin Ensemble Vienna is a flexible group of players including wind, strings and piano. For this occasion, on July 18, they are offering a programme which includes the first UK performance of an arrangement of Richard Strauss’s Till Eulenspiegel.

International string ensemble Chiaroscuro Quartet, use instruments with gut strings and period bows. Their programme will be on July 20.
