A group of former Exmouth Grammar School students came together to raise funds for Exmouth and Lympstone Hospiscare.

The Old Exmothians raised around £1,000 after a 1960s-themed social event at the Great Western Railway Staff Association Club (GWRSA).

The Old Exmothians is a group of former pupils of Exmouth Grammar School, who adopted the name when they left the school in 1962.

The name has since been adopted by the school’s reunion group.

Members Elaine Bagnall and Dave Green presented a cheque for the money raised to Pam Warren and Frances Longhurst, of Exmouth and Lympstone Hospiscare.

Elaine said: “We were absolutely delighted with the total raised - it was a social event for us with the bonus of raising money.

“The total was beyond what we thought we would raise.”

The event featured performances from Dave Green’s Showband, Los Noblos and Guy Somerfield. A raffle held on the night raised more than £500.

Elaine said the group wanted to thank the performers who gave their time and the GWRSA for its hospitality.
