KEY plans for soon-vacated Rolle College buildings will be unveiled next week as details of the first stages in the redevelopment are discussed.Residents' group Save our Avenues from Despoliation (SAD) will gather on Monday to form a body of opinion on plans for the Hasledene site in Cyprus Road - to become a precedent for the post-University of Plymouth rebuild.Developers Bloor Homes have revamped initial designs and now propose 32 two or three-storey private homes, plus a further 20 one or two-bedroomed flats. The buildings will be located at the current university site. Inclusion of the apartments means the area will incorporate East Devon District Council's required 40 per cent of affordable housing - the first such 'mixed development' proposed for The Avenues area. The SAD group has worked in recent years to have an official design statement for the area adopted at EDDC. Chairman of SAD Mark Tribble said: "The draft application, though moving away from the large blocks of flats that have been built [in the area] to date, has not fully addressed the ethos of the design statement. "The houses in design do not fit in easily within The Avenues, due to being of urban design. Height, site coverage, density of development and landscaping do not comply with the statement."The draft application details how homes will be built in semi-detached blocks of four, linked by garages. The plans go on display at the Devoncourt between noon and 9pm on Monday. SAD meets at 7pm in the Solar Room, Rolle College, at 7pm, again on Monday, January 28.
