A down-on-her-luck young Exmouth woman has revealed how she has turned things around, following the launch of her new business.
Holly Hazell, 22, opened Holly’s Cakery Cupcake shop last month – and she has set her sights on some big orders.
Holly graduated with a 2.1 in geography and geology from Plymouth University last year, but she then struggled to get a job, leading her to open her own business in Exeter Road - right next door to her parents’ accountancy firm.
Holly said: “I did a cake course five or six years ago. Making cakes has always been a bit of a hobby for me - I really enjoy it.
“I now make cupcakes for weddings and birthdays. I spend my day making cakes and planning ideas on how to take the business forward.
“My parents both have their own business and they knew what I needed to do.
“Business has been quiet, but I have been prepared for that.”
Holly revealed she is already creating employment opportunities in the town.
The entrepreneur revealed she currently employs two part-time members of staff.
