WORK to repair a large hole in a lane in Budleigh Salterton is in hand, the district council says.
For several months, residents have complained to the council about the size of a hole in the surface of the service alleyway between Armytage Road and Clarence Road.
Residents claim the hole is almost three feet in diameter and five inches deep.
Locals have placed an orange traffic cone in the crater to prevent vehicles from driving into the pothole.

A district council spokesman said the county council Highways Agency had visited the spot in the summer to rule out collapsed sewers before agreeing the next move.
The spokesman said: "The order has been placed. They are doing a number of works in the Budleigh Salterton area."

Budleigh Salterton resident Steve Cooper, who reported the pothole to the council via the fixmystreet.com website, said: "It is a hazard and someone is going to get hurt.
