Exmouth’s RNLI crew were praised by HM Coastguard for the speedy recovery of an overturned canoeist
Praise has been heaped on Exmouth’s inshore lifeboat crew for its speedy rescue of an overturned canoeist on Saturday evening.
Portland Coastguard said ‘great credit’ was due to the crew, who were on their way to the male canoeist within seven minutes of being called.
A coastguard spokesperson said: “A member of the public called 999 from his flat at Exmouth Quay, reporting a person clinging to a buoy in the estuary.”
